What: Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing
Where: Booth FGO-30, Messe Friedrichshafen (Friedrichshafen, Germany)
When: Oct. 12-16, 2021

This October, the Fakuma international trade fair returns with the 27th installment of a packed event that is slated to deliver as stated: an industry and technology barometer in extrusion technology, thermoforming, and 3D printing.

Fakuma features companies that are innovating with materials, machines, peripherals, processes, and simulation, so it’s a great way to ensure your team stays on the ball with all the latest stuff in a field that’s now practically a constant in industry.

One of Artec’s trusted partners in Germany, 3D-MODEL AG, will be participating in this year’s event with some of the most powerful and versatile handheld 3D scanners on the market today — Artec Leo, Eva, and Space Spider, as well as Artec Micro, our fully automated desktop 3D scanner. Make sure you head over to the lightweight hall in the outdoor area of Messe Friedrichshafen, booth number FGO-30, to learn more about these scanners, and specifically how they can work for you.

Artec Leo is a multi-award winning device that is popular for a reason. Leo’s 3D reconstruction rate of up to 80 frames per second makes it one of the fastest handheld 3D scanners on the market. It comes with an inbuilt battery, so there’s no need to connect to a computer or plug into an AC power source. The scanner is also equipped with a touchscreen with an intuitive UI, so you can see your 3D model being built on the scanner itself while you scan.

Artec Eva is a structured-light 3D scanner that is great for making 3D models of medium-sized objects like automotive parts, furniture, or sculptures. The device is compact and lightweight, and when paired with the Artec battery pack, can be powered in the field for up to 6 hours.

With a scanning accuracy of up to 0.1 mm and no need for targets, Eva is an excellent all-rounder that can capture even the most difficult objects – including those with black and shiny surfaces.

Based on blue-light technology that is a favorite for its ability to capture small objects with intricate details, Artec Space Spider packs a punch despite its light weight, especially for perfectly rendering complex geometry, sharp edges, and thin lines with up to 0.05 mm accuracy. For example, you can capture objects like a cylinder head if you are in the auto industry, coins, or even parts of the body.

And finally Artec Micro, an ultra-high-precision, metrology-grade desktop 3D scanner, ideal for extra small objects with complex and intricate surfaces. The scanner has an accuracy that goes beyond the human eye’s visibility threshold: up to 10 microns accuracy, or up to a hundredth of a millimeter! With automated data capture, all you do is set up your object on the scanning platform, click once, and Micro does the hard work.

These scanners have transformed workflows and enhanced efficiency in rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, quality inspection, and many more use cases, with successful applications in diverse industries including industrial manufacturing and quality control, healthcare, forensics, virtual reality, and e-commerce.

Artec 3D’s devices are all built with the user experience first in mind. None of them require targets or spheres, and they all offer various integration possibilities and a host of other features that our partners will be happy to walk through with you.

At this year’s Fakuma, you too can explore how these powerful devices can work for you.
