Squid Game models
Whether you’re getting ready for Halloween, are going to a costume party, or are into cosplay, there’s always an excuse to play dress-up. We grabbed an Artec Eva and talked one of our team into modeling one of these now-iconic jumpsuits (“You’ll love it, promise!”). In just a few minutes, we were able to produce these stunning, full-color 3D models inspired by Squid Game – the wildly popular Netflix series. Don’t worry, this is a spoiler-free piece.
Artec Eva is the perfect scanner for a task like this. Eva has a 3D point accuracy of up to 0.1 mm, and a 3D resolution of up to 0.2 mm. It’s a light, fast, and versatile 3D scanner based on structured-light scanning technology. It’s also a reliable all-round solution that can capture even normally difficult objects like those with black and shiny surfaces.
Even more importantly, the scanner’s data acquisition speeds reach a whopping 18 million points per second. This is crucial in a project like this because the person must stay completely still throughout the scanning process. So if you don't have a scanner that can quickly and accurately capture data, you might need a physiotherapist by the time you finish.
Frankly, it seems fitting that like the very first game in the series, your subject’s ability to stand still has life-or-death implications for the results of your scan. And in our particular case, the model was even holding objects. Thankfully, all our scanners are designed to be as light as possible.
The Netflix series that inspired this project is based on children’s games, so we were going to think up some cringeworthy pun about Eva making a difficult task for most 3D scanners out there look like child's play. Perhaps it’s easier to just say we’re very satisfied with the results.
