Mushroom (pleurotus eryngii)

This pleurotus eryngii mushroom was very easy to scan due to its size and thickness. The matcap view of this model allows you to appreciate the detail under the cap and the thin bit of peeling skin on the stem. Space Spider has perfectly captured the complex dotted pattern across the top of the cap, and the variety of browns, tans, and whites present in the gills has been vividly carried over into this highly realistic color 3D model.
