Garuda, also known as king of the birds and enemy of snakes, is a legendary creature that represents birth and heaven in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain faith.
Inspired by the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue located in Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park in Bali, Indonesia, this 20cm x 20cm x 50cm wooden figurine of the birds’ king was scanned by 3D Numerisation, Artec’s French Gold Certified Reseller, using Artec Eva in HD Mode at 0.3 mm resolution. And it wasn’t by chance that Eva was chosen for the task. As you can see, the figurine has a very rich and fine geometry from top to bottom – perfect for testing the capabilities of HD Mode.
Previously, this would never have been possible to fully reconstruct in SD. Now powered up with high definition, Eva managed to capture both small, thin, and hard-to-reach areas of the figurine, including the wing holes, and the numerous carvings with minimum noise, and in outstanding detail.
