Dutch Police mock crime scene
This extraordinary 3D model of a mock crime scene comes from a Dutch Police training facility in the Netherlands, featuring subway train wagons, forensic mannequins, and everything else within the simulated crime scene. Documented using Artec Leo, Ray, and Space Spider scanners, the scene was captured in high-resolution 3D. The combined scans initially comprised 700 million polygons, later simplified to 60 million for a feature-rich, versatile, and efficient 3D model.
Artec 3D scanners have revolutionized forensic analyses, overcoming the many limitations of traditional forensic methods such as dental stone casting, crime scene photography, and forensic photogrammetry, among others. Artec 3D scanners offer submillimeter accuracy, digitally capturing and preserving crucial evidence, thus enabling pinpoint measurements of scenes and evidence of all sizes, as well as virtual revisits to the crime scene.
Zoom in and take a closer look at this 3D model to see for yourself the kind of 3D model that more and more law enforcement agencies around the world are depending upon for their forensics documentation needs each and every day.
