This popular and versatile model of a skid-steer loader used in everything from construction and manufacturing to agriculture and the utility sector – the Bobcat® S450 – was captured in high-resolution 3D with Artec Leo in HD Mode within 90 minutes. All components except for the cockpit glass and light reflectors were scanned as is, while these two components in particular were first coated with talcum powder to facilitate capture. Thanks to Leo's large field of view, our scanning expert didn’t encounter any tracking or serial registration issues while scanning.
To capture the numerous intricate and hard-to-reach surfaces such as the areas between the frontal part and the bucket of the loader, as well as the side parts of the hull, we used Leo with HD reconstruction mode. Powered by AI algorithms, HD Mode not only doubled the resolution of the captured data, but also allowed us to get a way cleaner and far more detailed 3D model.
Because the object is large, it took another 90 minutes to reconstruct the data in HD, and 3.5 to 4 hours to process in Artec Studio.
